Taiwan has not been part of China since 1895?

This "letter" suggests that Taiwan shouldn't be counted as part of China since 1895.

The fact is this: Taiwan was ceded to Japan by the Qing Dynasty in 1895, which had absolutely nothing to do with the civil war between the Nationalists and Communists in China.

Ooooooooooooooook, whatever you say dude. I guess everyone is entitled to his/her perspective.

I don't want to debate the merits of this person's opinion because I am too lazy and this is not a political blog. I am blogging about it because prior to this "radical" letter I had no idea there are people who think of Taiwan that way.
